Send your first error
PostDeploy accepts events from Sentry SDKs. You need an account, one project and one source. The source gives you a DSN for your SDK.
Steps
- Start your 14-day free trial. Registration creates your organization and signs you in.
- Create a project. A project groups the errors and logs of one application.
- Create a source for that project. A source is one environment, such as
productionorstaging. - Copy the DSN from the source page. PostDeploy shows it once. If you lose it, create a new source.
- Open Send test event on the source page and paste the DSN. This checks the path to PostDeploy. The event appears under Issues.
- Add the DSN to your SDK with one of the examples below, then deploy or run your application.
SDK support
PostDeploy accepts the Sentry envelope format at the DSN. Our load tests use @sentry/node, with errors and structured logs. We have not run the Python, Ruby and Elixir examples below against this service, so send a test error and check Issues before you depend on them.
Node.js
import * as Sentry from "@sentry/node";
Sentry.init({
dsn: process.env.POSTDEPLOY_DSN,
enableLogs: true,
});
Sentry.logger.info("checkout started", { request_id: "req-123" });
Python
import os
import sentry_sdk
sentry_sdk.init(dsn=os.environ["POSTDEPLOY_DSN"])
Ruby
Sentry.init do |config|
config.dsn = ENV["POSTDEPLOY_DSN"]
end
Elixir
# config/runtime.exs
config :sentry, dsn: System.fetch_env!("POSTDEPLOY_DSN")
Next step
Connect a coding agent to read the event you sent.
Spike routes
The spike accepts Sentry envelopes at POST /api/{project}/envelope/. It does not serve source map uploads or the legacy error endpoint.
Use the public key from your spike DSN. Read the mobile ingestion guide for native clients.
